How to Update License in Ohio

Changing your address after a move can be a real pain. MoveEasy does our best to minimize the hassle that is updating your license. The information you will need to update your license in Ohio goes as follows:

In State
If you are currently an Ohio resident that is changing your address within Ohio, you have several options to go about changing your license. All steps and forms can be found at Ohio’s DMV website.

Methods

-Online

  • Click the link provided on the DMV’s website and fill out information

-Mail

  • Request to Change form can be found online at the DMV’s website, complete and send to address provided

-In person

  • Go to local DMV, fill out Request to Change form, provide proof of address change

Timeline

Within 10 days of move

Forms Needed

-Driver’s license/photo ID

-Proof of new address (ex. utility bill, insurance, bank statement)

Out of State

If you are moving to Ohio from out of state, there is a possibility you will be required to complete some sort of test. In addition, there will be a fee.

-30 days for out of state vehicle registration
